Coolest Things You Can Build in Lego Fortnite

You think you saw all the cool things in Lego Fortnite? Think again.

The Lego Fortnite update has brought so many possibilities for everyone that it’s honestly hard to decide what to try out first. Building creative bases and vehicles has been the focus of many players since day one, and I can say that the community’s creativity didn’t disappoint.

It really doesn’t matter whether the things that players made were meant to be practical or simply fun to watch and do. The main point of these creative projects is to allow players to express themselves and share ideas.

Flying Sky Base

There are quite a few YouTubers that created flying bases, but OhDough seems to have the best grip on the project, and I believe he made the most functional flying base that you can maneuver quite easily and, most importantly, that won’t break down!

OhDough’s main strategy revolves around using wooden foundations as well as wooden floorboards because they are lighter and won’t need too much firepower to move. He puts 2 Small Thrusters on both the left and right sides of the flying base for maneuvering and adds 2 Large Thrusters in the back to give it speed. You’ll still need 4 Large Balloons on each corner of the base to propel it to the skies.

The build isn’t created only to look fun in Sandbox mode. As OhDough mentions, he thought of the expenses that one would need to go through to make this flying base, and, according to him, it should be quite affordable base. Also, the flying base is meant to carry up to 6 chests. Check out his full video for all the details on how to create this flying miracle.

Mega Mansion

Many houses have been built in Lego Fortnite since its release, but not many mega-mansions. YouTuber Kez made sure to be one of the first ones to dedicate his time to creating a real tycoon experience in this mode where he would have his home/village in a gigantic villa on top of a desert pillar.

It’s interesting how Kez worked around the natural obstacles that are undestroyable. When I think of it, base-making on clean, plain meadows can be kinda boring since you can do almost anything. The real challenge comes when you need to work around a difficult terrain and still make an architectural masterpiece.

Since this is an enormous mansion, Kez has assessed that he used more than 600 pieces of wood to build it (and that’s an optimistic assessment). Here’s the full video of his mega-mansion project.

Windmill

Windmill is another major project that you can go for in Lego Fortnite if you have that inner architect in yourself that cant wait to get out. Constructing this major building can take you 30+ minutes as there are many smaller individual parts that are used to secure the overall stability of the building.

A YouTuber named Burty was the one to show us how to start on this Don Quixote building and perfect it. As you will see in his full how-to video, you will use dozens and dozens of Castle Corners for the base of this magnificent structure, as well as Medieval Railings and smaller Wooden Floorboards to get those nice cosmetic final touches.

Constructing the tower itself isn’t as surprising as his solution for the Wind Turbine. To make it, you actually need to build Granite Foundations on top of your tower and then construct a Dynamic Foundation on top of them. The catch is that you want the Dynamic Foundation to fall and land upright, leaning on the Granite Foundations. You then secure it with other foundations that you can build around it and build a long pillar on the vertical Dynamic Foundation to create a base for the Wind Turbine.

The Wind Turbine, of course, won’t be started by the wind but instead by, you guessed it – the Large Thrusters. The whole process in shown in Burty’s amazing video, full of details and advice.

Train

Yes, you read that right. You can make a completely working train that can help you move around the map and between biomes much more easily. However, it will be plenty of work, I’m not gonna lie.

TrueTriz made this awesome, industrial-scale transport system. To start yourself off, you need to find two hills between two different biomes that don’t have any obstacles between them. You’re going to need to build stars to the height that you feel comfortable with and start making the “rail,” which will actually be a single line of Rustic Thin Floor.

Once you connect the two “stations” from and to which you wish to travel, place two dynamic foundations on the rail, one next to another with a small space in between. Next, you want to add Thrusters to both ends (Large Thrusters are a good choice for long-distance rails, while Small Thrusters are ideal for short-distance routes). And that’s pretty much it. You can see the full details of the Train building in TrueTriz’s video on YouTube.

Car

A car with steering doesn’t sound like a big invention to gamers who haven’t tried Lego Fortnite, but to those of us who did, boy, it’s one hell of a task. Yes, there are wheels, thrusters, platforms, etc., available in the build menu, but getting a car to actually work is a nightmare. Especially one with steering.

Luckily, there have been persistent gamers out there, and one of them, a YouTuber Perfect Score, has found a way to make this mission impossible – possible. As he notes, the key to creating functional steering for a car is not only having the small side Thrusters with their own separate Activation Switches but physically separating those Activation Switches as well.

He showcases the whole process of making a functional car in his YouTube video.

Boat

A boat might be one of the easiest things to drive in a Lego Fortnite world, as water doesn’t have too many unpredictable obstacles and enemies that can appear out of nowhere and wreck your vehicle. As Lemonox showed us, a boat can be built in 5-10 minutes as long as you have all the necessary materials.

One of the main things you should know when building a boat in Lego Fortnite is that it’s best that you construct it right near the water so you can push it in easily when the time comes. Some have constructed wooden foundations near the water and built their ships on those, while others kept their construction on the ground (as long as it’s flat).

As discovered in other vehicle building, the best method for moving the thing forward are, of course, big Thrusters on the back (as much as you think you’ll need) and 2 small Thrusters in separate little ‘rooms’ in front of the boat. These separate compartments for front Thrusters are there to make sure that each Activation Switch is connected to one. Once you go full sails ahead, you will use these to steer left and right (activate the left Thruster to steer right and activate the right one to sway to the left).

Lemonox showed the whole process of boat building in his practical video.
