PlayStation Portal Error 105 Fix

At this moment, it seems that Sony has released an update that fixes the issue, and there’s nothing special you would need to do to fix the error 105 on your PlayStation Portal.

Many players from around the world reported that they experienced the issue, and the majority of them were people who had just bought the device or were logging in on it for the first time. This makes me believe that it has something to do with the software that is preloaded on the unopened PlayStation Portal devices not being compatible with recent patches.

If you’re still experiencing the issue, try restarting your device and making sure that you’re getting all the available updates. If the problem persists, contact PS support.

The post How to Stream PS5 to Discord appeared first on Gamer Journalist.

Nearly everyone who identifies as a hardcore PlayStation fan has their hands on a PS5 by now, and you’d be hard-pressed to find a gamer who didn’t have a Discord account. One of the best ways to show off your skills as a gamer is by streaming your gameplay to Discord, but trying to figure out how to do so can be daunting.

Figuring out how to stream PS5 to Discord doesn’t have to feel like learning rocket science! There are a few methods on how to go about it circulating online, but this method is by far the easiest and least complex. You’ll need a PC to do it, but other than that, you won’t need any special equipment to use this method. Keep reading to find out how to easily stream your PS5 to Discord!

How to Stream PS5 to Discord

Streaming your PS5 gameplay to Discord may seem complicated at first, but it’s actually incredibly simple. All you’ll need is a PC, an internet connection, and, of course, your PS5. Other than that, there’s no special equipment required to use this method! You will, however, need to download an app to your PC to make this work, so be sure that you have at least a little bit of space available on your computer.

The app you’ll need to download is relatively small in size, completely safe, and 100% free, so you don’t have to worry about getting any viruses or emptying out your bank account to get it. The app you’ll need to download is the PS Remote Play app from the official PlayStation website, which can be found here: PS Remote Play.

Image Via Sony Interactive Entertainment

This app does more than just allow streaming from PS5 to Discord; it also allows players to stream and play their PS4 and PS5 games, switch between games, view their console’s home screen, and even browse the console’s menus, all from a PC or mobile device that’s connected to the internet! This app is incredibly useful for anyone with a PlayStation console, regardless of whether or not you’re looking to start streaming to Discord.

If you want to stream your PS5 to Discord, then simply follow these easy steps:

  • Click on this link to be taken to the PS Remote Play page on the official PlayStation website: PS Remote Play.
  • Scroll all the way down until you see a red button that says “Windows PC and Mac Download” and then click on it.
    • Doing this should take you to a new page on the PlayStation website, where there will be a list of clickable links such as “Control your PS5 console from a Windows PC“, “Control your PS5 console from a Mac“, etc.
    • It should also include links for PS4 consoles as well, so if you still don’t have a PS5 yet, don’t worry! You can still stream to Discord!
  • Click on the correct link for your PC and PlayStation console and download the app.
  • Once it’s finished downloading, sign into the app and complete the set-up procedures.
  • After it’s been completely set up, sync your PS Remote Play app with your PS5 console.
  • Once the accounts are synced, you should be able to stream your PS5 gameplay directly to your PC. From here, simply log into your Discord account and stream from your PS5!

What Platforms Can I Install the PS Remote Play App On?

You can download the PS Remote Play app on multiple devices, not just PC! If you want to stream your PS5 gameplay to your Discord, however, then you’ll have to download the PS Remote Play app on a PC, as it simply won’t work on a mobile device.

If that doesn’t concern you, however, and you just want to have the app on your phone, then you’re in luck! You can download the PS Remote Play app on all Android smartphones and tablets (or Android devices running Android 8 or later), all iPhone smartphones and iPhone tablet devices (or Any Apple device running iOS 13 or later), and all desktop and laptop computers!

With the PS Remote Play app, you can stream all of your favorite games from your PlayStation console to your laptop, tablet, desktop, smartphone, PS5, or PS4 console! Even if you’re not trying to specifically stream to Discord to show off your gaming moves to your friends, you should definitely still get this app. It’s free!

In our world of advanced gaming technology, it’s to be expected that sometimes … it’ll fail us. The PS5 is a testament to the sheer advancement we’ve made in an effort to be entertained. But that doesn’t make it infallible. If you’re currently experiencing connectivity issues on PS5, especially if it’s giving you a specific error code WS-116521-6, you most certainly aren’t alone. Here are some tips to solving this problem.

How to Fix PS5 Error Code WS-116521-6

It should be noted that in a large percentage of cases where error code WS-116521-6 is given, it’s not the user’s fault. In fact, it’d seem that the majority of times, the issue is related to server maintenance. So, there’s a good chance that it’ll automatically resolve itself once the maintenance is complete.

Related: How to Fix Nintendo Switch Error Code 2005-0003

There are, however, some instances where this error code is delivered and it has nothing to do with server maintenance. If this is happening to you, the best advice we can offer is to perform a hard restart on your router (unplug, wait five minutes, plug it back in). You might also want to check the internet settings on the PS5 itself, in addition to testing the connection. If none of these fixes helps your situation, you might want to reach out to your internet service provider. They might be able to enlighten you as to a situation interrupting your PS5’s connection.

As stated above, there’s a significant chance that the server is simply undergoing maintenance, so please exercise patience. If you try to connect later, you may have more success!

No one is ever happy when servers go down for their favorite services. PlayStation players are exactly the same, and the time has come again for players to ask a very key question: is PSN Down? The PlayStation Network servers provide players who own a PlayStation console with a myriad of features. These can range from account management, to running the store page, to even playing games and socializing on said games. Let’s figure out how to check PSN sever status and see if they are down as of writing.

Is PSN Down? How to Check PSN Server Status

Players who want to check on the servers can go on over to the official PSN Server Status website and see any updates they provide there. There are of course other third party outage websites that, unlike the official website, add your voice to the many others. You can let people know if you are experiencing outages, which can hopefully let more people know the real picture. There are also ways to comment on these other website and talk to the other people who have reported problems.

As of writing this article, PSN servers are currently experiencing a ‘Gaming and Social’ server issue. They go into more detail and say that ‘Game Services’ are affecting players on PS4 and PS5. It goes on to say that, “you might have difficulty launching games, apps, or network features. We’re working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.”

How To Fix PlayStation Party Chat Error https://gamerjournalist.com/how-to-fix-playstation-party-chat-error/ Wed, 18 Jan 2023 19:59:00 +0000 https://gamerjournalist.com/?p=166314 A Crisis in Communication.

The post How To Fix PlayStation Party Chat Error appeared first on Gamer Journalist.

Are you experiencing … miscommunication? Is your signal spotty? If you’re having trouble connecting via PlayStation Party Chat, you might not be alone. It looks like some players are reporting an error associated with the PS5’s party chat service and are looking for any and all fixes. So, let’s take a dive into the abyss and find out what — if anything — can be done to solve this crisis in communication.

How to Fix PlayStation Party Chat Error

So, like with many other in-game errors, the first step should always be checking the server status for the game, or in this case, service. After all, if the issue is widespread, there may be nothing you can do. If, by chance, the server status doesn’t indicate a widespread problem, there are some actions you can take.

To start, do a speed test on your internet connection. If you’re finding the results are lower than you expect, it might be worth contacting your internet service provider. You could be experiencing an outage, or perhaps weather conditions are negatively impacting your signal. If you’re connecting via WiFi, you might want to try connecting via ethernet to see if the problem is with one or the other.

But, before you contact your ISP, it’s a good idea to manually restart your router. If the problem persists after you’re back online, then you’d probably want to contact your ISP.

By chance, if you’re privy to more technical knowhow, you could try adjusting your console’s DNS settings to either Google’s (8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4) or Cloudflare’s (1.1.1.1 or 1.0.0.1). If none of that made sense to you, we would advise you to be extremely careful and err on the side of caution. If all goes well, you’ll once again be connecting to PlayStation Party Chat sooner rather than later.

How To Fix PS5 LAN Cable Disconnected Error https://gamerjournalist.com/how-to-fix-ps5-lan-cable-disconnected-error/ Wed, 14 Dec 2022 14:26:20 +0000 https://gamerjournalist.com/?p=148623 Have you tried booting it is Safe Mode?

The post How To Fix PS5 LAN Cable Disconnected Error appeared first on Gamer Journalist.

Have you ever experienced an issue where, while playing on your PlayStation 5 or just after turning it on, you see a message saying “LAN Cable Disconnected” followed by “LAN Cable Connected” on your PS5 repeatedly? That’s called the PS5 LAN Cable Disconnected error.

Unlike what most would quickly assume, this error is not solely caused by a faulty LAN cable. It could be a software problem that could be fixed using a simple method involving a few steps.

Fixing the PS5 LAN Cable Disconnected error using software updates

As mentioned, it could be caused by a software issue that could be fixed by updating your PS5’s software in Safe Mode. Here’s how to do that:

  1. First, turn off your PS5 by pressing the power button in front of the console. The power indicator will blink a few times to indicate that it is already turned off.
  2. Second, press and hold the power button until you hear two beeps—the second beep will follow about seven seconds after the first beep. This indicates that the PS5 is running in Safe Mode.
  3. Third, connect the PS5 controller using the USB Cable, then press the PS Button once instructed.
  4. Fourth, once the Safe Mode menu appears, go to Update System Software and click on Update Using Internet.
  5. Fifth, click on Update once a message telling you the system will be updated appears.
  6. Lastly, wait for the system to finish updating itself, then restart when done.

This method has solved the problem for many users, but if the error still persists, don’t worry—there are other things you can do to fix the issue.

Fixing the PS5 LAN Cable Disconnected error by rebuilding database

If the method above doesn’t work, you can try rebuilding the PS5’s database. This has worked for many users. Here’s how:

  1. First, repeat steps one through three above to put your PS5 in Safe Mode.
  2. Next, once the Safe Mode menu appears, go to Clear Cache and Rebuild Database. (You might sometimes find Rebuild Database only—click on that)
  3. Then, click on Rebuild Database, and let your PS5 finish the process.
  4. Lastly, if you have the Clear System Software Cache option, click on it so that your PS5 can delete the system files that caused the error.

Fixing the PS5 LAN Cable Disconnected error by restoring default settings

If you have done the steps above and the error continues to persist, you might need to restore your PS5’s default settings. Here’s how:

  1. First, repeat steps one through three above to put your PS5 in Safe Mode.
  2. Next, once the Safe Mode menu appears, select Restore Default Settings.
  3. Lastly, let your PS5 complete the process, then try using the console normally.

If the problem continues and the messages start appearing again, you might need to work on your router instead.

Fixing the PS5 LAN Cable Disconnected error by Restarting the Network Router

Interruptions in the transmission of data from the router to the PS5 can cause the PS5 LAN Cable Disconnected messages to appear. This can be remedied by restarting your router and connecting it to your PS5 again. If that doesn’t work, you need to power cycle your router. Here’s how:

  1. First, turn your router off.
  2. Next, with the router turned off, unplug it from the wall outlet, wait for about 1 minute, then plug it back in.
  3. Lastly, turn your router on and connect it to your PS5 again.

After doing all of the above steps, you should power cycle your PS5 console as well. This involves turning off the console, unplugging it, and turning it on again.

What do I do if none of the above steps work?

These steps above should solve the problem and stop the error messages from showing on your screen again. If the issue still persists at this point, it could very well be a hardware issue. In that case, try the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Make sure that the LAN cable is connected to your router and your PS5 properly. A loose connection can cause the issue.
  • Make sure that you are using the correct LAN cable on your PS5—a good quality CAT7 or IBRA CAT8 cable might be what you need as they will fit your PS5’s LAN port properly.
  • If the LAN cable is connected properly on both your PS5 and router but the issue persists, try switching to another LAN port on your router.
  • If the LAN cable is connected properly, and the issue still persists even after you try using different LAN ports, you need to use a new LAN cable.

If none of these methods and fixes work and your PS5 is still under warranty, contact Sony for a fix or a replacement.

The post How Do You Fix PS5 Error Code CE-100009-0 appeared first on Gamer Journalist.

As a self-proclaimed “PlayStation Guy,” there are times I wish I wasn’t. In fact, in the last six months alone, I have struggled with more than my fair share of PlayStation error codes. So, it fills my heart with loathing to hear that many gamers are struggling with a very similar predicament. If you’re being beaten senseless by the PS5 error code CE-100009-0, read on to learn how to emerge victorious!

How to Fix PS5 Error Code CE-100009-0

It’s exciting to purchase a brand new game. It’s less exciting, however, when, even if you buy physical, you still have to download / install updates and patches. But, what can put an even thicker damper on things is an error code, especially one that doesn’t give you any idea of what caused the error. In today’s specific example, we’re dealing with error code CE-100009-0, paired with the phrase ‘something went wrong.’

It’s like — yeah, we’re aware something went wrong, can you be any more specific?! To add insult to injury, the code isn’t present, at the time of writing, on the official PlayStation Support site. But, thankfully, we’re here to offer a helping hand in this trying time. It would seem that most instances of this error are caused by the user trying to download a digital game or update a physical one. So, how do we fix it?!

If you’re receiving this error code, all you need to do is clear out the downloaded files. It would seem the current consensus is that these files have been corrupted, which is triggering the error. To do this, all you need to do is navigate to your DOWNLOADS and cancel/delete the content in question. Then, press the OPTIONS button and make your way to the MANAGE GAME CONTENT directory.

Related: How do you turn off voice reading on the PS5?

Take the time to uninstall any relevant files associated with the game; not the game itself! Just the update or patch or whatever you were trying to download when the error was triggered. If that ends up being the game itself … then, yeah, you’ll probably want to clear out the game and do a fresh install. As soon as the files in question are uninstalled, give the process a second try. Ideally, doing this will avoid a second run-in with error code CE-100009-0. But, if you’re still suffering this specter, the origin of the issue might go deeper, and you may need to get PlayStation involved directly.

How do you turn off voice reading on the PS5? https://gamerjournalist.com/how-do-you-turn-off-voice-reading-on-the-ps5/ Wed, 16 Nov 2022 19:30:24 +0000 https://gamerjournalist.com/?p=133028 Multiple people sharing one gaming console is not a new thing. What is new is all the accessibility options available for the individual people to change at any given time.

The post How do you turn off voice reading on the PS5? appeared first on Gamer Journalist.

Accessibility in gaming has taken great strides since Sony’s original foray into gaming consoles. The PS5 gives players more options and abilities to tweak minute settings ranging from zoom and display, to having a voice read text on the screen aloud. Regarding the latter, this can be a useful tool for some, and a minor inconvenience to others. Voice reading provides spoken guidance for operating the console while also reading any on-screen text. Players may have activated this feature on accident and are unsure as to how to turn it off. With more PS5 consoles becoming increasingly available in stores, let’s answer the question: how do you turn off voice reading on the PS5?

How do you turn off voice reading on the PS5?

Screen reading, otherwise known as voice reading, is one of the many accessibility features that can be toggled on or off in the PS5 settings. In order to turn off voice reading on the PS5 players will first want to navigate from the home screen over to settings. From there select the accessibility option, then choose screen reader. This will open the screen reader settings. The first option in these settings will allow you to enable or disable the screen reader entirely.

Voice Reader Settings & Languages

Voice reading has a few different settings for players to tweak as well as allowing for different languages to be spoken, depending on the console language selected. Settings such as speech speed, voice type, and voice volume will give players many different options to choose from. The languages players can select that will work with the voice reader are as follows:

  • Arabic
  • Dutch
  • English
  • French
  • German
  • Italian
  • Japanese
  • Korean
  • Polish
  • Portuguese
  • Russian
  • Spanish

Accessibility settings like voice reader and mono audio are just the tip of the iceberg for Sony. Further allowing more people with disabilities to enjoy the PS5 in their own way. Console sharing has been a pastime synonymous with the birth of console gaming. Features such as a voice reader can be a great help to some, and thankfully can be turned off for others.

What is Inu-End in Silent Hill 2? Explained https://gamerjournalist.com/what-is-inu-end-in-silent-hill-2-explained/ Thu, 20 Oct 2022 13:17:28 +0000 https://gamerjournalist.com/?p=119919 The mastermind behind it all.

The post What is Inu-End in Silent Hill 2? Explained appeared first on Gamer Journalist.

Silent Hill 2 Remake was announced by Konami via live stream. It has been 20+ years since we saw Silent Hill 2 on the PS2 for the first time, and eight years since the Silent Hill HD Collection on PS3. This classic horror franchise has been revived, riding the wave of horror game remakes.

Not only is Konami releasing a remake of their most iconic, horror classic, but we also get a new Silent Hill game called Townfall. A live, interactive series has been announced alongside a new film called Return to Silent Hill. But amongst all this, we are also shown collectible items that are releasing including statues of Silent Hill 2 characters and most importantly, an homage paid towards the franchise: the Inu-End statue.

What is Inu-End?

Inu-End, simply put is Dog-Ending. The dog in question is Mira, a Shiba Inu who appears at the end of Silent Hill 2. Now you are probably thinking back to the canon ending of the game and distinctly remembering that there was no dog. Mira appears in the “Dog” ending, a joke ending following the great “UFO” ending in Silent Hill’s first installment. The concept of this ending is that Mira is behind the events in Silent Hill. To find this ending in the original Silent Hill 2 you must obtain the Dog key in the Lakeview Hotel and watch the videotape that you find on the first floor in an office safe. Enter the observation room and the “Dog” ending will play.

Upon seeing Mira controlling levers, James (in Japanese) exclaims “so this was all your work!” and falls to his knees, his mind blown, he admits defeat. One of life’s most unanswered questions is: was Mira taunting or comforting James? Because after James falls to his knees Mira gets off the chair and begins to lick his face. Masterful entertainment.

Appearances

Mira appears in multiple joke endings after Silent Hill 2, she’s like a kind of Silent Hill mascot accompanied by the reoccurring “UFO” joke ending which is first seen in Silent Hill 1. Mira reappears in later Silent Hill games, these are:

  • Origins – “UFO” ending, Mira appears with her alien companions as a translator for the alien.
  • Shattered Memories – “UFO” ending, Cheryl transforms into Mira.
  • The Escape – Appears after the players second playthrough (as an alien). Pays homage to Silent Hill 2 by having Mira as the mastermind to the previous events. Mira then becomes a playable character for a bonus portion of the game.
  • Book of Memories – A hostage in Earth Dungeon and appears in later missions (Valtiel). Her last appearance is in the joke ending, digging on the Toluca Lake beach.

What This Means

We can only hope that Mira will reappear in the Silent Hill 2 remake. If Konami decides to include all endings as part of the remake experience. But Konami releasing the Inu-End statue is a subtle but comforting hug to the loyal fanbase, for acknowledging and remembering them after 21 years.
