The popular phrase “war is hell” was originally coined by William Tecumseh Sherman, a Union army general during the American Civil War. The phrase was, and still is, meant to remind us that no matter how glorified warfare is in fiction, the real thing is exponentially worse. World War II, in particular, was a humanitarian nightmare, but I guess even humanitarian nightmares make for interesting fiction. On the subject of WWII, when is Hell Let Loose coming to consoles?
Hell Let Loose was originally crowdfunded on Kickstarter back in 2017. It was in development for a few years until releasing in an Early Access period on PC via Steam in 2019. That Early Access period just concluded a few days ago, with the game finally releasing in full on July 27th. It’s already doing pretty well for itself on Steam, but those of us without gaming PCs, when are the other consoles getting a slice of the action?
When is Hell Let Loose Coming to Consoles?
Black Matter has confirmed that Hell Let Loose will be launching on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, though a precise date has yet to be nailed down. The best estimate we have right now is either Q3 or Q4 of 2021, though since we’re in Q3 right now, it might be better to hedge your bets on Q4. Since Q4 encompasses the holiday season, that would probably be the best time for the devs to release the console ports, as odds are good there will be another mad scramble for PlayStation 5s and Xbox Series X/Ses, and by extension, games to play on them.
Incidentally, it’s also been confirmed that while Hell Let Loose will have crossplay, it’ll only be between the console versions, so if you’re playing now and want to play with friends, make sure they get the same version as you.
