Hell Let Loose’s problems with VoIP on Xbox occur from time to time and are nothing new. Luckily, it doesn’t seem that they are getting too many players, but nevertheless, whenever you get hit by a non-working voice chat, you are easily annoyed.

There are some standard and non-standard fixes that we’ve found for VoIP problems in Hell Let Loose, and we will share all of them with you here. Sometimes, it’s the simplest thing that you never thought about, but other times, it can be a bigger issue that requires extensive troubleshooting.

Hell Let Loose VoIP Xbox Fix

Being a very team-oriented game, Hell Let Loose is almost impossible to play without any voice chat. That is why the resolving of an issue like VoIP not working is crucial.

There are more than a few things that can cause your Xbox to have issues with VoIP, so we’ll go through them all and hopefully help you fix it. Follow our guides for each fix carefully to get back on the voice chat.

Update Controller

Yeah, as always, the first thing to try to do is simply update anything affected by the issue. For this VoIP problem, you’ll need to press the Xbox button and go to Profile and System > Settings > Devices and Connections > Accessories.

Even if you regularly update your controller, make sure you give this one a check since you’ll never know when a new update will drop.

Clear the Mac Address

Clearing an alternate Mac address is another way you can try to fix this issue. To do it, go to Xbox settings > Network > Advanced Settings > Change Settings > Alternate MAC Address > Clear. You might be asked to restart the device. If that happens, do it.

Uplugg Everything and Reset Xbox

If you have unnecessary USB things connected to your Xbox, try unplugging them right away and leave only your headphones + any other must-have peripherals. Reset or Hard reset (turn off the Xbox by holding the Power button and then unplug it for 5 minutes) the console after that to allow things to settle and check if your VoIP works.

Check if Your Headset is Working

Your headset, as well as all things digital, has a certain lifespan. Even if you think it’s too early for it to die on you, always double-check if it’s operational by plugging it into another device. If the headset is working on other devices but not on Xbox when you’re playing Hell Let Loose, then it’s not the headset’s problem.

Clear Data

One of the most common fixes for issues on smartphones is simply this – clear the app data, and that’s what I believe can help you with Hell Let Loose VoIP problem. Go to Settings > Storage > Clear local saved data. Keep in mind that this move will delete games saved on your hard drive, but they will be saved to the cloud.

We hope these fixes helped you get back into the battle. Read more about Hell Let Loose here: How Long Are Matches in Hell Let Loose and How to Get a Tank in Hell Let Loose.

Hell Let Loose prides itself on its realism, but sometimes, this beloved feature can get in the way. For example, it’s more difficult to see the enemy, and even when you kill them, the game doesn’t have any clear kill notification except a subtle sound.

Not having the ability to know for sure whether you’ve seen the enemy or if you’re just imagining can be annoying. But don’t worry. There’s a way to hack it, and we’ll explain how below.

Hell Let Loose Best Settings for Visibility

Gone are the COD days when you could just lower the graphics settings and be able to see people hiding in bushes like there was nothing there. Games got much more sophisticated, but there are tips and tricks that you can use to see the enemy players better and gain that edge you were looking for. After all, maybe they are using the same tricks, so you’re just leveling the playing field.

Changing Brightness

Maybe it’s obvious to some, but I didn’t think about this before writing this article, so I figured it would be useful! Editing your brightness based on which map you’ll be on can improve your gameplay greatly. When you’re playing darkish maps, bump your brightness to about 130-150% based on your personal preferences. Similarly, when you’re playing bright, snowy maps like Foy, decrease the brightness levels to about 70-80%.

Launch Options and DirectX 12

Forcing your system to use DirectX 12 can improve your overall game performance and visibility. All you need to do is right-click Hell Let Loose on Steam and go to Properties > General > Launch Options. When there, insert this command:

  • -dx12 -USEALLAVAILABLECORES

Alongside forcing your system to use DirectX 12, you’ll give it a command to use all available cores for Hell Let Loose, improving the game’s performance and fps.

In-game Graphics Settings

Many players have their own preferences when it comes to these settings but here we will give you the optimal settings for FPS that will also help you spot enemy soldiers easier.

  • Dead Bodies Despawn Delay – 0.5 min. This will prevent your system from loading unnecessary items and will, at the same time, declutter your screen, preventing you from thinking that dead bodies are living enemies lying down. I actually saw a situation where dead bodies even stood up leaning against a trench wall, so it’s best when you have these disappear ASAP.
  • Player nameplate opacity – around 60-70%. Making the nameplates of friendlies transparent will help you better see any enemies behind them.
  • Shadow Settings – low. Lowering shadows always improves the FPS, but on top of that, you will have an easier time spotting enemies that are lurking in the shadows of buildings or big vehicles.
  • FX Quality – low. Similar to Shadow Settings, lowering the effects of explosions, fire, and smoke, for example, will allow you to spot better enemies moving around them.
  • View Distance – high. You want to see as far as possible when trying to conquer/defend the strategic point, right?

We hope you get a better experience with our tips! Read more on Hell Let Loose in our other guides How to Unlock Sniper in Hell Let Loose and How to Get a Tank in Hell Let Loose.

Hell Let Loose has many WW2 fans (including me) interested in its team-oriented gameplay and plenty of realism features that give you the feeling that you’re in a real battle.

Naturally, more and more players are looking to play it, and some people with the Xbox One are looking to join in on the fun. The answer to the question of whether you can play Hell Let Loose on Xbox One isn’t a straight one, so let’s dive in and see all the angles on this one.

Is Hell Let Loose Available for Xbox One?

Hell Let Loose wasn’t released for Xbox One, but you can technically still play it via Xbox Cloud Gaming. However, there are a couple of things you’ll need to pay attention to here.

The Xbox Cloud Gaming is Microsoft’s service that allows people all over the world to stream games onto their devices. But it’s still in Beta and has some server issues, so you may experience interruptions and bugs while playing your games there. I say “may” because it’s not a permanent issue, but it’s still there until the service leaves the Beta status.

The only way you can access Xbox Cloud Gaming is through an active Game Pass Ultimate subscription ($16.99 per month). But, even if you do that, the cloud gaming service is available only in the following countries:

  • Argentina
  • Australia
  • Austria
  • Belgium
  • Brazil
  • Canada
  • Czech Republic
  • Denmark
  • Finland
  • France
  • Germany
  • Hungary
  • Ireland
  • Italy
  • Japan
  • Mexico
  • Netherlands
  • New Zealand
  • Norway
  • Poland
  • Portugal
  • Slovakia
  • South Korea
  • Spain
  • Sweden
  • Switzerland
  • United Kingdom
  • United States

So, even though you can play Hell Let Loose on Xbox One, it’s a workaround. In case you ever decide to upgrade your system, Hell Let Loose is available on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PS5, and Microsoft Windows.

The post How to Get a Tank in Hell Let Loose appeared first on Gamer Journalist.

]]>
Hell Let Loose is a complex game that doesn’t let you get away easy with any role, including tank crew. Unlike other WW2 games that are built in an arcade shooter style, this one is looking to bring realism to the table in every corner possible.

Playing with a tank isn’t a simple WASD driving and shooting at the same time that you are maybe used to from old Call of Duty games or Enlisted. In Hell Let Loose, it’s a 3-man job, and you can’t get it easy. Keep reading to learn how to get and play a tank in Hell Let Loose.

How to Find a Tank in Hell Let Loose

Everything concerning tanks in Hell Let Loose is a team activity, including getting them. To get a tank, you need to ask the commander of your team to spawn one for you in one of the three HQ spawn locations. Also, you’ll need to choose the Armor role.

Unlike other games, there won’t be plenty of tanks spawning often, giving you the ability just randomly to hop in. Some tanks and vehicles do spawn at a slow rate in the base, but most strong ones that can make a big impact on the game don’t.

Requesting a tank from the battle commander doesn’t necessarily mean that you’ll get it. The commanders have a limited pool of resources they can use, so they will only spawn tanks when they think it’s needed.

How to Increase Your Chances of Getting in the Tank

First of all, you pick the Armor role, tank commander or crewman. The tank commander coordinates the movement of the tank and marks targets (the guy popping his head out of the tank) while the crewman can either drive or shoot the cannon.

Having a full 3-man team with your friends increases the chances that the commander will give you a tank. If you aren’t that fortunate, ask some of the other tank crews who are missing a member if you can join them.

Make sure to let everyone know whether you’re a beginner so that they can act accordingly. Driving a tank into a battle in Hell Let Loose is a complex effort, and your team needs to know how good your skills are before they go in there with you.

The battle between Enlisted and Hell Let Loose would be called Clash of the Titans by some WW2 fans (or only me). However you look at these games, the resemblance they have is great, and it’s reasonable that gamers looking for a great WW2 shooter experience would like to know the pros and cons of both.

I was personally thrilled the first time I saw the Hell Let Loose trailer and gameplay videos, although I spent plenty of time in Enlisted. That might make me a bit biased, so I decided to present you with both the pros and cons of both games and let you decide at the end which one suits you more.

Is Hell Let Loose Better Than Enlisted?

One of the things that needs to be said in an article like this is that both of these games popularized a new type of shooter game and, with their big player bases, already proved to be successful. Moving away from the classic individual approach where a player picks up a gun that he wants and goes wherever he wants to, Enlisted and Hell Let Loose added a more realistic squad approach.

Hell Let Loose Pros and Cons

Pros

On the pro side for Hell Let Loose, we can name more than a few things. The big thing that the game has, and Enlisted doesn’t have, is that realistic team spirit, which is a must if you want to play a meaningful battle. So whether you’re controlling a tank with your friends or simply running a squad that needs to fulfill a task, talking to others and coordinating is a MUST.

The game even has a commander who overlooks the whole battle, has unique abilities, and gets to play around with shared resources to win the battle. This gives a strategy taste to the game (at least to the person playing the commander) and takes the whole adventure in a new direction that Enlisted doesn’t have.

Still following the path of realism, Hell Let Loose has huge maps trying to get you the 1:1 recreation of real places where the battles played out. On top of that, you can play 50 vs. 50 in long matches that give out that real WW2 battle vibe.

Hell Let Loose’s shooting matchups feel a bit better than the ones in Enlisted, as you get a bit of that Overwatch feeling of a steady grip and better control.

Cons

The first con that comes to my mind is that nothing on the maps in Hell Let Loose is destructible. Your vehicles and tanks can get stuck in weird places and can’t even knock down a small tree. This kills the realism feel the developers were aiming to give out when making this game. I don’t know about you, but I’m always a sucker for a game that lets me destroy its surroundings.

When it comes to graphics, Hell Let Loose can maybe offer a better visual experience but at a high cost. If you’re not among those who have a $2000 PC, you’re likely to see a drop in fps and worse details around you. Since most people don’t have expensive setups, I had to put this one in the “cons” pile.

The personal progression through the game doesn’t feel as good as it feels in Enlisted since you need to grind a lot before you can unlock any new items.

Enlisted Pros and Cons

Pros

When it comes to the pros of Enlisted, the first thing I have to say glorious things about is the whole environment that reacts to the battle. Plenty (not all) of fences, trees, and other lighter items, such as thin walls, are completely destroyable and can easily be run over by tanks. When airplane bombs or artillery shells hit the ground, they leave craters that infantry can later use as cover, making every battlefield a unique place for fighting, just like in real life.

And when talking about airplanes, yes, there are airplanes in Enlisted. The game was developed by Gaijin Entertainment, which has previously built Warthunder, a game that featured airplane and tank battles in realistic scenarios. They carried some of that in Enlisted and fully completed that multi-approach to a battle – simultaneous attack by infantry, vehicles, and airplanes.

Progression of individual soldiers is much better in Enlisted, as each match will give you some goals to complete, and with the reward points you get, you can upgrade a lot of stuff. For example, you can research new soldier classes and weapons and get them to become available in the future, and entirely separately from that; you can upgrade squads and soldiers, giving them unique perks and boosts.

Cons

Being free-to-play, Enlisted has plenty of microtransactions that can put some players on top of others, and that’s drawn a lot of negative energy from everyday players who believe the game is pay to win now. Even though it might be true, I personally haven’t felt this in my games. The balance is always there, and I never felt I was outclassed by a player with a newer weapon or a more powerful tank.

Squads that we mentioned are a thing in both Hell Let Loose and Enlisted, but with one important difference. Hell Let Loose puts you in squads full of other players with whom you need to cooperate. Enlisted instead gives every player control of their own squad, whereas other soldiers are controlled by the AI.

Even though you can play as those other soldiers when you die and even order them where to go and what to do, the feeling that there are plenty of bots running around the map kinda kills the feeling of a shooter game for me. I like to know that every time I kill a player, I outsmarted a person and not just shot at a sitting duck bot.

The post How Long Are Matches in Hell Let Loose appeared first on Gamer Journalist.

]]>
When you first look at it, Hell Let Loose looks like any other WW2 shooter game. COD, Medal of Honor, Battlefield, what’s the difference? Well, there are more than a few.

The team behind Hell Let Loose set a goal of creating a realistic WW2 battle experience and, with that, brought in many elements that hadn’t been seen before. One of the things is the length of matches, which can go significantly longer compared to any of your Battlefield 1 matches. Keep reading and learn more about how this game is built.

Hell Let Loose Match Length

The match length in Hell Let Loose depends on the mode you’re playing, but it can range anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours and 30 minutes, although the latter probably won’t occur often. The game currently has 2 modes: Warfare and Offensive.

Warfare Mode in Hell Let Loose

When starting off in Warfare, your team and the opposite one have an HQ and 2 strong points in your control, with one neutral strong point in the middle of the map. The timer for this mode is 1 hour and 30 minutes, and to win the match, you either have to control the middle strong point when the timer expires, or you have to gain control of all 5 strong points on the map.

So technically, if your team is better organized, you can finish this match in 30 minutes or less. However, if both teams are balanced, it can take you to that full 90-minute duration.

It’s important to note that both teams get 500 of each resource at the start and an influx of 30 resources per minute.

Offensive Mode in Hell Let Loose

Offensive mode puts one team in the shoes of the attackers and the other one on the offensive. The defenders control all 5 sectors from the get-go, and the attacking team has 30 minutes to capture each sector (strong point) to be able to move on to the next one.

So, if the attackers take a full 30 minutes to catch each of the 5 sectors, the match could potentially go to a duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes, but that rarely happens. The defenders can’t reconquer the lost strong points, and if they, for example, manage to defend the first one for 30 minutes, they win after only 30 minutes of gameplay.

In this battle, the resources aren’t the same. The attackers get 500 of each resource (+30 per minute), while the defenders get 250 (+30 per minute). The defenders, however, start with 3 garrisons and artillery, which are unavailable to the attackers.

Artillery is one of the fiercest weapons in Hell Let Loose when used well. Players sometimes decide to give up on this powerful weapon because it can seem like a hassle to man it but trust me, it’s not.

The artillery gun indeed has some extra steps when compared to your regular single-shot rifle or a machine gun, but this weapon has been a decider in many wars, and it can be a decider in this virtual one as well. Dive into our article and pick up all the useful tips and tricks on how to master this mighty weapon.

Complete Artillery Guide for Hell Let Loose

There are a couple of things that you need to know before you even sit at the artillery gun in Hell Let Loose. The main thing, however, is that you can’t play solo with artillery. If you decide to man this weapon, you better be ready for some close cooperation with your team and, most importantly, your commander, who is taking care of the overall battle tactics.

Vital points to keep in mind when playing artillery:

  • Both teams have 3 artillery guns each at the center HQ (not all maps have artillery, however).
  • The gun’s maximum range is 1600m, which means you can’t reach past 3rd grid row from the enemy’s HQ.
  • The explosive artillery grenades cost 3 munitions, while the smoke ones cost 5 munitions. Be careful how you spend these because you are taking away from the team’s total amount of munition available instead of your own individual pile. Talk to your commander to see what your limits are.

Getting Started with the Big Guns

The artillery gun has 2 positions – the gunner and the loader. But it’s recommended that you man the gun yourself, as switching between these positions is quite easy and fast.

Naturally, you won’t be able to see your targets since they are really far away, so you’ll be counting on your team or commander to mark the enemy positions for you. Once you see the marking of an enemy tank or infantry, let’s say, you can start preparing to pummel them with lead.

The artillery gun’s barrel can move in 2 ways: left-right and up-down. Firstly, move the gun in the left-right manner until you reach the marked point. If you can’t go left/right enough while sitting as a gunner, switch to the loader, as that position can move the base of the artillery gun as well, giving you wider maneuverability.

Once you’re locked in on the position, now is the time to set the distance. Artillery guns shoot in an arc, so moving the barrel up and down will change the distance that your shells can reach. As soon as you man the artillery gun, you’ll see a distance table on the left side of your screen. This tells you what elevation setting you need to select for each distance. For example, 1600m (the max range) will require you to set the gun elevation to 622 MIL.

Advanced Artillery Tricks

Since not all enemies are going to be at a round distance (1600m,1000m, 500m, etc.), you’re going to need to edit the MIL value approximately to hit your target. Alternatively, you can use one of a dozen online artillery calculators like this one that can give you the exact MIL value for each distance for the artillery gun of each faction.

When you land a kill, you will hear a sound effect confirming that. However, you won’t have eyes and ears out there on the battlefield, so you’ll always need to be in tight communication with soldiers around the map who can tell you where your rounds are falling and if you need to make any changes.

Keep in mind that the game wants to be as realistic as possible, so your shells won’t always land in the exact same spot, even if you don’t move your gun an inch. When you fire a barrage of 5 or 6 shells, you’ll see that most of them will land in a radius of about 20m. Also, they have a traveling time of about 20 seconds, so remember that as well before firing.

If you’re new to Hell Let Loose, you’ll soon notice that it’s not like any standard online multiplayer shooter, like COD or Battlefield, for example. The squad system they have in place resembles the one in Enlisted, another unique WW2 shooter game.

Having a different combat and battle setup means that you won’t always be able to pick a role that you prefer. Instead, both sides in a battle have a predetermined role order that players need to fulfill. That is why picking a Sniper, among other roles, won’t always be an easy task.

Related: Hell Let Loose 2024 Roadmap: New Weapons, Improved Graphics, New Uniforms and More

Keep reading to find out what you can do to increase your chances of getting a sniper in Hell Let Loose.

How to Play Sniper in Hell Let Loose

To play as a Sniper in Hell Let Loose, you need to join the Recon unit that already has a Spotter. There will be 2 Recon teams on each side in a match, and there can be only 1 Sniper per Recon unit. This means 2 Sniper spots are available per team.

As you might assume, getting the Sniper spot won’t be easy as these Recon squads get populated quickly. Moreover, you’ll need someone to play your Spotter so you can pick the Sniper role. This is why playing with a friend can increase your chances of getting the Sniper for yourself.

How to Increase Your Chances of Getting a Sniper in Hell Let Loose

Reduce Game Loading Time

Since people are snatching the Recon squad spots like crazy as soon as they join the map, you’ll want to do everything in your power to load the map before the majority of players. You can use game-boosting software so that your game runs and loads faster and gets the upper hand.

Also, if you’re able, try installing Hell Let Loose on SSD instead of HDD. SSD loads games much faster, so you’ll surely increase your chances of getting a Sniper this way as well.

Try Joining a Locked Squad

People will often pick up the Recon unit without having a Sniper just to save the spot for someone else. Try requesting to join their locked units in case their friends don’t show up. It isn’t a useless attempt, as it has shown that time and time again, people are willing to do that.

Of course, if strangers do let you in their unit, try to be communicative and create a relationship with them so that you might play again together in the future.

Switch Teams

If there are no Sniper slots available with the Americans, maybe there is one on the German side? Try switching sides and seeing if you can snipe for the opposite team or if people in that team’s Recon unit will take you in.

Wait it Out

Matches in Hell Let Loose can last from 45 minutes to 90 minutes, and not everybody can dedicate that amount of time to one match. There are high chances that Sniper players can leave in the middle of the match, leaving the slot unpopulated. Keep an eye out and snatch it if you can.

Keep Checking

The last piece of advice I can give you is to wait it out simply. Play another role, and then every time you die and need to redeploy, check if Sniper spot is available. It might happen that you don’t get it a couple of matches in a row, but on the other hand, you just might get it every time you’re keeping your eye out.

We hope you are going to get that Sniper slot as soon as possible! For more Hell Let Loose content, see our guide, Is Hell Let Loose Split Screen.

Hell Let Loose is really grabbing the attention of many players, and with its recent introduction to Game Pass, I believe this game is going to strive.

Since the game’s multiplayer is neatly organized, squad-oriented, and basically meant to punish solo players casting K/D stats, many wondered if they could play it in split screen. We researched the issue, and here’s what we found out.

Related: Hell Let Loose 2024 Roadmap: New Weapons, Improved Graphics, New Uniforms and More

Can You Play Hell Let Loose in Split Screen?

Unfortunately, Hell Let Loose does not have a split screen available. Even if it gets introduced, I assume it would be introduced on consoles since those systems are more often played with one screen and multiple controllers.

Even though split-screen games and multiplayer shooters aren’t completely history, it really does seem that the majority of the developers out there don’t pursue this type of playing. One of the main reasons behind that decision could be the fact that when you’re playing split screen, the device on which you’re playing has to render the world in two individual instances. This puts a lot of strain on the CPU.

Is Hell Let Loose Coop?

No, Hell Let Loose isn’t a straight coop game where you and your buddies are playing through a campaign together. Instead, you reenact the famous battles from WW2 and play in a squad-type matchup in an online versus mode.

The core gameplay revolves around you communicating with your squad and your team in general since you all need to coordinate infantry movement, tanks, and artillery to gain the upper hand over the enemy team.

Another year and another round of Hell Let Loose updates are before us. Like before, the devs are releasing the Roadmap to help us all figure out what content will be released and when.

Since the 2023 Roadmap wasn’t fully deployed (probably due to the switching of the developer teams), players are expecting those promises to be fulfilled now. Additionally, other novelties being introduced are just as exciting. So, let’s cut to the chase and dive into Hell Let Loose 2024 Roadmap.

What is in Hell Let Loose’s 2024 Roadmap?

New Map and a Better Overview

Interesting improvements are coming in 2024 for Hell Let Loose. One of the most exciting things is the new map Mortain, which is adding a historically important battle in Normandy. It will feature a couple of Capture Points and offer players plenty of street fighting.

When we’re talking about new maps, we have to mention that a new Tactical Map design is being planned so that new players can get accustomed to the gameplay more quickly. It’s still being developed, but as the dev team mentioned, it’s meant to reduce clutter on the map screen.

New Toys

Hell Let Loose’s fans of British weapons will be happy to hear that the Crusader Mark III tank is coming to the game with its astonishing 6-second reload time. What’s best is that it seems that the decision behind introducing this tank came directly from a Reddit vote that devs put up!

Another British update brings in the Gammon Bomb to replace the Sticky Bomb. This toy explodes as soon as it touches the ground, so bear that in mind before using it! It’s still unclear whether it would be able to damage vehicles and, if yes, which kind. My bet is that it will be able to destroy non-armored vehicles like jeeps.

Another smart little rework includes new fire effects. The new fires should look more natural and reduce the performance cost that the previous ones kept on your device.

New Gear

We will see some exciting new gear in 2024 that includes the US commander General Patton’s uniform and the US infantry Winter campaign in Europe uniform. Between these two, I’m more excited about the rugged winter uniform of the infantry because it looks exactly like those that soldiers had in Band of Brothers. If you look closely, you’ll notice that these are authentic uniforms that Major Winters, Nixon, Malarkey, and the gang had.

Purple Heart Lane Update

Purple Heart Lane map had rain effects that were creating problems for console players. With the new update, these should go away, and everybody should enjoy a nice and refreshing VFX rain on the wet roads.
