The incredibly wonderful, complimentary and cool comments that many of you have sent to us in response to our blogs are a joy. Thank you. We can’t answer all of them, or we wouldn’t have time left to keep writing more, as well as turning out new, needed books.
But they confirm our beliefs that most people want to add to the positive and shine light throughout the world, rather than contribute to the negative and aid the purveyors of darkness that frighten, discourage and add to the marriage problems that mess up lives and break hearts.
You’ve found us on Google. You’ve discovered us on dating sites, other marriage sites, men’s sites, women’s sites and even places that we probably would rather not be.
For example, regarding the latter, one correspondent, who was very complimentary of our blog and who encouraged us to keep up the good work, runs a porn site! Our showing up on a porn site is enough either to make us laugh or cry because we’re well acquainted through our counseling with the devastating effects porn has, eventually, on marriages and relationships. MOM, POP, AND YOUR MARRIAGE PROBLEMS
If you treat your mother and father with respect, honor them and lovingly deal with them, you likely treat – or will treat – your spouse the same way. If that’s the case, you can conquer a lot of your marriage problems. Sound silly? It isn’t, because the feelings you have for your parents – and your in-law parents – will affect how you feel and react to your husband or wife.

DADS WHO DESTROY LIVES AND MARRIAGES
A marriage rarely can be saved when a father becomes lewd and/or incestuous toward his children. Fortunately, some men just need a wake-up call to straighten them out.
George and I (Margaret) were giving a marriage seminar when an attendee came up to me and said, “I’ve got a huge problem. See that guy over there in the second row…the one who is smirking? That’s my husband.” He wasn’t hard to spot. “He refuses to get a job. I’m at work every day. Now I find out that he’s coming on to our 16 year old daughter in a lustful way. She said to me, ‘Mom, keep that creep away from me.’”

MARRIAGE – SAVE IT? OR GET A DIVORCE?
Both Audrey and Owen had refused to read our books and material. They were too angry, too hurt, too anxious to blame one another for their marital problems. So I suggested that Audrey go to see Fireproof, a movie that focused on a troubled marriage and what the guy did to save it. I was hoping that she would then take her husband, Owen, to see it as well. My hopes were dashed after she saw it and said, “I don’t want Owen to see this. He might start trying to do those things and my mind already is made up. I want out.”
Further conversation revealed that she felt that once her marriage to Owen was over, she’d marry the guy she’d already found, and if that didn’t work out, she’d go find another. Whereas she had been committed to her first marriage for 18 years, now she wasn’t committed to much of anything except finding someone with whom she could sleep.
Had Arianna known Audrey, Arianna might have been able to paint a picture of the future for her. Arianna and I met at a small church we were attending when our children were small, and since our kids were about the same age, we arranged play dates for them, taking turn at each other’s homes watching them.
One day over coffee she said, “Life has not been easy for me, Margaret. I’m on my sixth marriage, you know; plus I’ve had several affairs – some with married men.”

LET’S SAVE MARRIAGES – NOT DESTROY THEM
Newspapers are reporting that David Letterman, late-night CBS host, is struggling to save his marriage after his repeated forays into fornication among his staff members.
Actually I don’t know why he’s worried because as far as I can see, his wife, Regina Lasko, has no call to be upset. After all, she hooked up with Letterman in 1986 and they had an illegitimate son. I mean, why should she expect his behavior to change just because he has a child and a ring on his finger? It was only in 2009 that he decided to marry her.
Was it because he wanted to impress the public that Letterman, on “Live! With Regis and Kelly,” called his behavior stupid and reckless? He said it hurt his family and himself. “You take a look at the explosion,” he’s reported as saying, “and it knocks you down and you wake up every morning and you’re scared and you’re depressed and sad. And you kind of got to let that knock you down and knock you down, and then pretty soon you’ve got to start knocking it down. And then, when that happens, you start looking at the pieces left of your life.”

MEN HAVE A PASSION TO RESCUE
In Richmond, California, something in a garage exploded and soon the adjoining house caught fire. Reportedly, since it was in a high crime area, the front porch was ringed with security bars. The doors couldn’t be opened without a key – even from the inside. Six people were trapped, because, in their panic, no one could find the key that unlocked the doors.
The kitchen was engulfed in flames when Sylvester Wiggins and his wife drove by. Wiggins screeched to a stop, ran to the house from which screams were sounding, and tried to kick in the door. It wouldn’t budge. There was a live, downed power line in the front yard, but Wiggins ignored it and kicked again. Nothing gave. He backed up then …

FINANCIAL PROBLEMS CAN SINK OR SAVE A MARRIAGE
Jordan and Jennifer were living high. Their parents warned them that if they didn’t stop, they would suffer severe consequences and their marriage would be in danger.
Essentially telling their two Dads and two Moms to mind their own business, Jordan and Jennifer joyfully refused to alter their habits. They went on expensive vacations, bought new furniture on a regular basis, and supplied their kids with designer clothes and every conceivable game and toy available. Furthermore, the couple helped anyone else in financial trouble, trying to appear rich and generous.

This isn’t about not talking. It’s about not talking about the wrong things. Some spouses simply cannot handle lurid truths about their sweethearts’ past.
Lee and Lila both were virgins until one day they became so passionate on a date that they had sex. In time they both married, but to different people. Lee felt he had to tell his new wife, Zoe, about what happened with Lila. Zoe was so hurt by his confession that it was all Lee could do to save his marriage.

SURVIVING AN AFFAIR
Hailey hadn’t realized that Ryan had strayed, but she knew something wasn’t right between them. Did he love her anymore? She tried to remember the last time he told her so. Now it seemed he scarcely noticed her except when he wanted sex. She was scared. Really scared. Was she going to lose him? Prayer and tears punctuated her days.
When she found out about his affair, she went into a rage. He raged back.
